Want to run as a write-in candidates?

A candidate who wishes to run as a write-in is required to file a Campaign Registration Statement (ETHCF-1) before collecting or spending and money on the campaign, and no later than 12:00pm on the Friday preceding the election.

Absentee Ballots & Voters with Disabilities

You may return your completed absentee ballot by mail or personal delivery to the City Clerk’s office at the Stoughton City Hall, 207 S. Forrest Street, Stoughton, Wisconsin, 53589.  You must personally mail or deliver your ballot, unless you require assistance because of a disability, in which case you may be assisted by a person of your choice, other than your employer, an agent of your employer, or an officer or agent of your union, with mailing or delivering your absentee ballot to the City Clerk’s office. Your properly completed absentee ballot must be received by the City Clerk’s office no later than 4 p.m. the day of the election.

Regularly Scheduled Elections

Spring Primary
Primary held on the third Tuesday in February to nominate non-partisan candidates to be voted for at the Spring Election. State Statute 5.02(22) (If necessary only)

Spring Election
Election held on the first Tuesday in April to elect judicial, educational, and municipal officers, and non-partisan county officers, and to express preferences for the person to be the presidential candidate for each party in presidential election years. State Statute 5.02(21)

Fall Primary
Primary held in even-numbered years on the second Tuesday in August, to nominate candidates to be voted for at the General Election, and to determine which candidates for state offices other than district attorney may participate in the Wisconsin election campaign fund. State Statute 5.02(12s)

General Election
Election held in even-numbered years on the Tuesday after the first Monday in November to elect United States senators, representatives to congress, presidential electors, state senators, representatives to the assembly, district attorneys, state officers other than the state superintendent and judicial officers, and county officers other than supervisors and county executives. State Statute 5.02(5)
